Hi, my name is Denise Mooney and I love Joyful Noise Preschool for many reasons. After 10 years of homeschooling 3 of my 6 children I was interested in a preschool for my very bright 3 year old. Knowing the school and the lead teacher, Velma Van Dyke, I was sure this was the right place for my daughter. The school provided a balance of self-directed play and the opportunity to explore and develop skills still emerging. Consistency and a routine of physical , creativity, language and social development have proven to bring the best out in my daughter Deborah. Soon Lily would join the 3/4 class as Deborah moved up into the 4/5 program. Lily was very shy but soon shined too.
In 2006 I had the opportunity to work with Velma in JNP's 4/5 program. My youngest, Delana, entered the 3/4 program and the 4/5 program. I so much enjoyed working with the children in a well rounded program I am today volunteering in the 3/4 and 4/5 program. I am learning so much and having fun at the same time. I never knew work could be this fun!
I was encouraged to look into getting credits so I have enrolled in a self-instructed course for early childhood professionals and have earned 6.2 Childhood Education Units. I am continuing to earn more credits but also getting the hands-on and training from one of the best teachers in the area, Velma Van Dyke, is truly a great opportunity.
I am looking forward to spending many years here at Joyful Noise Preschool.
